Halfway House is situated on the fence-line of Tsavo East National Park with 270 degree views over the Park itself and stunning views of the Sagala and Taita Hills. Accommodation is self-catering with availability for up to 8 people in Ndovu Suite at the top level and 4 people in Nyati Suite on the first floor. There are fully equipped kitchens and pleasant relaxing seating areas with splendid views of the Park in each Suite.
Sunsets viewed from the “Tusker Terrace” at the highest level are something special!
There are also two bandas in the grounds, Ngiri One and Ngiri Two, with two pairs of bunk beds in each. These bandas are now fully equipped with bedding, towels etc. and there is a separate fully equipped kitchen, as well as toilets and showers.
Game is abundant, especially from March to October when large numbers of elephant and buffalo are in the immediate area, sometimes only metres from the electrified Park fence! Oryx, Zebra, Grant’s Gazelle, Warthog and Lesser Kudu are frequently seen.
Halfway House is situated just 4km. from the main Voi / Taveta junction on the Mombasa / Nairobi road and can be seen, but not accessed, from the main road 3km. north of this junction, to the east. A map will be provided for access. Voi Town is just 5 minutes drive and Voi Gate into Tsavo East only 15 minutes away.
This is a new concept for travellers – comfortable self-catering accommodation within spectacular surroundings, whether taking advantage of the Park and staying several nights, or just as a stop-over on the way to Nairobi or the Coast. You will feel relaxed and refreshed after your stay.
All bedrooms are fully equipped with beds, bedsheets, extra blankets and bedside lights. 2 of the rooms in Ndovu Suite are open on one side for star-gazing. Each Suite has a bathroom with a shower, and a separate loo. The house is currently on generator but mains electricity supply is imminent. There is a houseboy available to clean and wash dishes.
A deposit of 50% needs to be paid to secure the booking. Balance payable 7 days prior to occupation.
